Do you like to take pictures?
Most photo-websites, like Flickr, let you display your best work. Then, people drop by and say ‘wow,’ and that’s about it. Why not do something a little cooler with your pictures. Something exciting!
Read a sample chapter of my novel and see if you have any pictures that would illustrate the text. You’ll get some additional exposure for your work, and I’ll give you full credit for the photo and a link to your website, blog, or Flickr page [where NovelNovels is located on the picture below].
Our illustrators range from just-got-a-camera-for-Christmas to professionals like Thomas Hawk!
You keep all rights to your photos. You’re just letting me use them to illustrate my novel. The only rules are 1) the photos have to belong to you and 2) nothing worse than an “R” rated movie. Otherwise, get as creative as you like. Use Photoshop. Anime. Cartoons. Abstracts. Photos. Drawings. For example, you could send in your interpretation of the emotion being conveyed in the text. Hey, if you’re an actor, send in a head-shot, and illustrate one of the characters in the novel. Contact me about any idea you’ve got that might work.
Why is all this historical? Because I don’t think anybody else is doing this right now.
